There are a few tools I help to get my sites up in running order.

As I come across additional tools I find very helpful I will add on to the article.

qSandbox – “Staging Sites Made Easy”

It is real easy to create a free site here and use it to show what the site looks like to the client.
Or create multiple sites used in a classroom setting. qsandbox.com (I added an affiliate link.)

Free WordPress Demo Server

I have been worried that testing out a bunch of plugins in my development site will mess up the database and whatever else. There is another way. One can test plugins online through wpdemoserver.com

WP Theme Detector

On occasion I wonder if a site is using WordPress and if they are which theme and plugins  are they using. I will then go to WP Theme Detector and find out.

Other site detector sites: wp-site-explorer , satoristudio.net/what-wordpress-theme/ , whatwpthemeisthat.com and scanwp.net

Other tools:

www.themestats.com

https://website.grader.com – How strong is your website?
I also use Desktop Server for local development and Duplicator to move my sites. Another option is Local by Fly Wheel.
